We have finished our study of FFOE and creative thinking, and we have transitioned to studying logical thinking and science. The students have learned how to do basic logic problems that are solved with grids, and we will continue to work on one or two of those problems each week through the end of the year. The link at the right has some puzzles that you can print for your child to solve at home if you're interested.
We recently completed our first science experiment. Our experiment involved using baking soda and vinegar to blow up a balloon that was on a bottle. The picture on the right shows the final result of our experiment. While it was fun to watch what happened, we focused on the scientific method as we completed our activity. We took notes about the question that we were answering, predictions we made, our observations, and the conclusion. We will continue with several different science experiments this month while we learn more about the scientific method.
